The Words Of A Fallen Hero Ring True On Election Day

Brent Taylor
it just goes to show... only the Good die before their time.

Brent Taylor was more than just the Mayor of North Ogden City in Utah, he was a hero that reminds us why voting and America are worth fighting for.

In October, Brent Taylor was shot and killed while deployed in Afghanistan. Taylor was also the Mayor of a town in Utah, a family man and a hero. Before he was killed he posted this on Facebook and spoke to the meaning of our elections.

“As the USA gets ready to vote in our own election next week, I hope everyone back home exercises their precious right to vote. And that whether the Republicans or the Democrats win, that we all remember that we have far more as Americans that unites us than divides us.” – Brent Taylor

The story of Brent Taylor is truly an inspiring one. A husband and father of seven children was the kind of man that role models are made of. Brent Taylor posted a video on Facebook in January before he was deployed and spoke to the meaning of what it is to be an American.

As Americans head to the polls and go on Facebook to argue about which party is better, hopefully we can remember Brent Taylor and the sacrifice so many have made for us to have the ability to vote and argue.

After the election, America will do well in remembering Taylor’s great words. “We have far more as Americans that unites us than divides us.”

Thank you Brent Taylor.
