Beto O’Rourke Surprises Members Of Town Hall With 2020 Question

A pretty face in an empty suit - it worked for Obama, it can work for Beto!

Beto O’Rourke, the Texas lawmaker that lost to Ted Cruz in a bid for the U.S. Senate is now changing his tune about running for president.

During the election and immediately following, the rising star on the left said that he was not interested and not running for president.

In the video above, Ted Cruz says that he thinks O’Rourke has his sights set on the office of president, but O’Rourke makes his position clear. He said, “I don’t want to do it. I will not do it.”

Now, a few weeks after the election and some time with his family on vacation, Beto O’Rourke is now saying that it could be a possibility. Well, at least he didn’t say no.

When asked about his future 2020 plans by a reporter at a Town Hall in his hometown of El Paso, O’Rourke said he’s focused on his constituents until his term is up on January 3rd.

He did go on to say, “Then Amy and I will think about what we can do next to contribute to the best of our ability to this community.”

After the vague response, he looked down at his wife sitting in the audience and asked, “Amy, how was that?” She smiled and gave thumbs-up.

It looks like his answer of “I will not do it” is changing to maybe I’ll do it if my wife says it is ok. He is a smart man getting his wife’s approval, and he is charismatic and a great speaker. He is everything the Democrats need to have a chance at winning in 2020. The same stale candidates are not likely to work this year. It didn’t work for Hillary in 2008 and 2016, and now it is time for some fresh faces on the left.

What do you think about a possible run by Beto O’Rourke? Do you think he can win?
