Last week, Congress passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) that will keep the federal government funded until April 28th, 2017.
During that time, social security, and funding for welfare programs will continue, but for James Hoffa, head of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, that’s not good enough.
While Hoffa praised increased spending that was approved for drug addicts and for people impacted by the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, the son of Jimmy Hoffa stated,
“While the Teamsters are pleased no action was taken to ram false pension fixes down the throats of our members and other hard-working Americans, comprehensive reform for all pensioners is needed in the next Congress. People who worked hard all their lives should not be left in their golden years with such uncertainty.”
The teamsters represent 1.4 million members of the blue-collar workforce, but provide political support for left-leaning organizations. Specifically, according to reports, the Teamsters are major funders to the group, Americans United for Change.
In October, the group was caught red-handed by Project Veritas in a scheme to incite violence at Trump rallies.
A large portion of Americans United for Change’s budget comes from the Teamsters and other unions.
