The midterm elections wrap up next week and then all eyes start focusing on the Democrats and their plans for the 2020 presidential elections. With about a dozen names floating around as possible candidates, Hillary Clinton seems to want her name in that mix as well.
In 2007, Hillary was expected to win the Democratic primary on her way to the White House, but Barack Obama came out of nowhere to win in 2008.
In 2015, Hillary was again expected to win the White House and then Donald Trump happened and she lost again in 2016.
Now, as we approach another election, how does Hillary feel? She said, “I’d like to be president.”
During an interview with Recode’s Kara Swisher, Hillary answered a question about a possible 2020 run with a “no”, but she said she would make a decision after the midterm elections.
After 2016, she did receive over 65 million votes, but not enough to win the election. Hillary is 71-years-old, but younger than Trump, Biden and Bernie, but will her health become an issue again?
During the 2016 election, her health and coughing became a big issue. Even recently she has had some coughing fits that concern some about her ability to actually win the White House.
Hillary has a big challenge as she moves towards 2020. Some Democrats want fresh faces, and not the same people that have lost time and time again. But when it comes down to it, Hillary still wants to be president and that may be enough to get her to run.
