As an immigrant horde marches up from the South, through Mexico, Trump has made an urgent call for real immigration reform – and called on Congress to make deportations faster and easier.
He tweeted out, saying, “As ridiculous as it sounds, the laws of our country do not easily allow us to send those crossing our Southern Border back where they came from. A whole big wasted procedure must take place. Mexico & Canada have tough immigration laws, whereas ours are an Obama joke. ACT CONGRESS”
President Donald Trump also added that Honduras, Mexico and “many other countries” use the immigration laws in the United States to their advantage to get their citizens into the country – where those citizens get to feed off US welfare and send billions back to their country, effectively stealing from the American people.
“Must pass tough laws and build the WALL. Democrats allow open borders, drugs and crime!” added Trump.
Following up on this policy guidance, Trump also urged Senate Republicans to unleash the “nuclear option,” allowing the Senate to pass legislation with a simple 51 vote majority, vs the 60 vote supermajority usually needed.
The tweets from President Donald Trump came on the same day when the Justice Department set deportation quotas for the immigration judges for the very first time. This has been done in an attempt to speed up the process and close up pending cases.
