"We just want to delete all 'Bad' history... why is that so controversial?" - Violent Mob

Monday night, a large and dangerous crowd gathered around the Confederate statue known as Silent Sam on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The crowd gathered to show support of a graduate student who is facing criminal and school charges for throwing red ink and blood on the Silent Sam statue back in April.

Maya little sat down for an interview about her charges and her vandalism of the statue.

Now the statue is on the ground as things got out of hand on Monday night. See the protesters pull the statue down in this video.

The large crowd clashed with police earlier in the day, but remained at the site despite the violent flare-ups.

Now that fall is approaching and schools are back in session, expect to see more of these types of “protests”. What are your thoughts on the removal of Confederate statues? Let us know in the comments below.
