Anyone watching cable news on the presidential election night saw stunned anchors as Trump pulled off the victory. Many Americans were in shock and nobody more than the pollsters. They got it all wrong.
At one point, MSNBC was talking about a Hillary Clinton landslide.
If you don’t remember what happened in the 2016, watch the video below to remind you.
Fast-forward to 2018 midterms and the pollsters are again banking on the Democrats. NBC News/WSJ poll was just released and it has the Republicans down by 12 points.
The poll did highlight another number that should have the left worried about a repeat of 2016. Enthusiasm on the right is up and almost even with Democrats. Despite all the negative media attention there are quiet Americans that support Trump and how he is handling America.
It’s the silent Trump voters that got him elected in 2016 and it could come down to them keeping enough Republicans in power to keep the Senate and possibly the House.
We’ve already learned that pollsters don’t know how to accurately evaluate Trump and this election is a referendum on the president any way you slice it. After getting 2016 all wrong, the polls and predictions better be a lot more accurate this time around or there credibility will drop about 20 points.
