Liberal politics—and a close friendship with the Clintons and Obamas—helped protect a serial rapist like Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein for years.
But now? The Los Angeles Police Department is making one thing clear: that’s not going to work anymore.
Former child star, Corey Feldman, announced via Twitter that he had formally filed a police report with the LAPD about being molested as a minor by Hollywood movers and shakers.
Feldman excitedly exclaimed, “THE LAP WILL BEGIN AN OFFICIAL INVESTIGATION NOW!”
He also stated, “I just completed a formal sit down interview with [LAPD’s] special division, and gave them all the info I know! This was official the 1st formal report ever taken on any of my cases, as [Santa Barbara Police] never followed up back in 1993 and has no record of my complaints.”
The LAPD later confirmed that they were, in fact, looking into Feldman’s claims that pedophiles run rampant in Hollywood.
“Corey Feldman filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department. There is no further information at this time, and his report is being investigated,” said a spokesperson.
Feldman first felt compelled to speak out after his best friend, Corey Haim, died in 2010 after a battle with drug addiction. Feldman later claimed that at the root of Haim’s drug addiction was the fact that, like Feldman, he had been molested numerous times as a child by Hollywood big wigs.
Feldman has since named two of his rapists: actor Jon Grissom and actor Charlie Sheen. Both actors have denied any involvement—but, with the LAPD now investigating the case, time will tell.
