Pretty sure this isn’t constitutional: “The View” co-host Joy Behar wants to jail people for supporting President Donald Trump.
Specifically, she wants to jail retiring Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah).
“I don’t know if you saw this. I don’t know if you saw this clip of Orrin Hatch, the esteemed so-called senator from Utah,” Behar said, before describing it: “The reporter said the president, Michael Cohen, the president, they might have committed crimes, you know. ‘I don’t care,’ he said. ‘The president’s doing a good job.’ Where have we come when a senator from Utah is saying I don’t care if he committed a crime.”
She added: “Don’t they care about democracy anymore?”
After a commercial break, Behar continued on her tear against Hatch: “He is going out of office. He has nothing to lose by speaking truth to power about Trump. Why does he say even if he commits a crime it’s OK?”
Then she ordered him to be locked up for defending the President, suggesting: “Maybe he needs to go to jail, too.”
Behar has long been a reliably left-wing voice on the daytime talk show, but she’s attracted considerable controversy in recent years for her unhinged anti-Trumpism.
Recently, she tangled with co-host Meghan McCain–daughter of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)–after McCain asked her to stop using former President George H.W. Bush’s death to attack Trump.
She also got in trouble, and was forced to apologize, for comparing Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith to a “mental illness.”
