The Ohio governor and Trump never really got into any heated exchanges during the campaign, and on a couple of occasions Trump has even said that he respected the governor.

Kasich was the last to announce his run last summer and was the second-to-last man standing. He pulled out of the race hours after Ted Cruz suspended his campaign.

John brings a very high level of political experience that is hard to find. He worked with Reagan and has the resume that would help Trump.

The one thing that makes John Kasich a finalist is the fact that the two rarely shouted insults at each other, and have been friendly in the past. Not everyone on this list can say they were friendly with Trump during the primary race.
