Democrats won back the House of Representatives… and their new leaders are already raising eyebrows.
Starting in Janaury, Nancy Pelosi is likely to be installed as Speaker of the House–which could give President Trump the necessary foil as he works with a divided Washington.
In addition, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who has adovcated repeatedly for Trump’s impeachment, will be the head of the House Financial Services Committee. She’s already threatened to subpoena Trump’s banking information.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who has repeatedly butted heads with Republicans over the Russia investigation, will also likely rise to chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who has also threatened to impeach Trump, will take over the House Judiciary Committee.
And Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), another anti-Trump radical, will take over the House Oversight Committee. Allegedly, Cummings already has a long list of targets inside the Trump Administration.
Last night’s results weren’t the anti-Trump wave Democrats hoped for. An unpopular showing in the House of Representatives over the next two years could swiftly return Republicans to power in 2020.
