|For a long run during the primary season, Bernie Sanders was gaining momentum and won almost 10 states in a row. As the primaries winded down and focus shifted to California in early June, Bernie challenged Hillary to a debate.
Fox News set it up and invited the pair to speak to the American people about why they should be president.
Hillary declined. It was a smart move.
Bernie really had a lot of momentum and if Hillary went on the debate and made one mistake, there is a good chance that the delegate count on the Democrat side would be a lot closer than it is now. Hillary at one time said she would debate anybody, anywhere, but apparently she lied about that too.
