Hillary Clinton is just about the least accessible candidate in history. The former secretary of state has not held a formal press conference in six months. Not a single one in 2016.
Is this what her presidency will be like?
Donald Trump, on the other hand, has held four press conferences and does interviews almost every single day. The real estate mogul calls into shows to respond to pundit’s commentary.
If Hillary is the least accessible candidate of all time, Donald might be the most accessible.
Donald just held a press conference yesterday and you can see the video here.
Hillary just tries to control everything. Why do you think she is in trouble for having her own server? She has done many interviews this year, but they are all controlled and where she has the upper hand.
At press conferences it is a free-for-all. Journalists trying to ask the “gotcha” questions and working to get a scoop and help their careers makes it tough for a candidate.
If it is tough, there is a good chance that Hillary will shy away. After the West Virginian coal miner called out Hillary for saying she will kill the coal industry, Hillary’s campaign made sure that all future events had scripted questions or were filled with supporters.
Let us be honest, if you were under a criminal investigation by the FBI, would you want to do press conferences?
