A majority of Americans agree with President Trump: it’s acceptable to call members of brutal gang MS-13 “animals”—which could cause big problems for Democrats, who have hit back against the “dehumanization” of the violent criminal illegals.
According to a new poll by POLL, 56 percent of Americans think there’s nothing wrong with calling the notorious gang “animals.” Just 44 percent think it’s an un fair characterization.
The question comes from a media scandal last week—which began after President Trump was asked a question about MS-13 during a meeting with law enforcement officials from around the nation.
While answering the question, Trump said that MS-13 members were “animals.” But his answer was taken out of context by the mainstream media who reported that he had called illegal immigrants “animals.”
The media was forced to retract the story, but many liberals—who had already slammed the President for using the word “animals”—didn’t want to lose face by admitting they had been duped by a phony scandal, and instead continued to attack the President.
The highest-ranking Democrat, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi pointedly went after Trump, saying that there was a “spark of divinity” in every person, including MS-13 members—which led Trump to criticize her for “coming out in favor of MS-13.”
The Democrats’ reflex to oppose Trump has led them to stand with some horrible people—including, in this case, MS-13.
But as this poll shows, the American people are not—and overwhelmingly agree that there’s nothing wrong with the President of the United States calling a gang of brutal and unapologetic murderers and rapists “animals.”
