Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, a public university in California, has announced a plan to reduce the number of white people on campus.

As reported by The College Fix, the “massive diversity and inclusion effort” is a 30-page document designed not just to attract more minorities, but to actively lower the white student population.

“In 2011, the campus was 63 percent Caucasian,” the report reads, “in fall of 2017, it was less than 55 percent … but there is still much work to do.”

The college wants its percent of white students to fall below 40%, putting it in line with the broader population of California.

In order to discourage white students from applying, Cal Poly has eliminated Early Decision—which it claimed “disadvantaged low-income students.” Now, all students are viewed at once.

They also implemented new scholarships “aimed at recruiting more African-American and other underrepresented minorities, and will force students to take “diversity training” programs.

But it’s not just white people who will be actively pushed away: the college also announced that it would specifically aim to add more women to “traditionally male-dominated majors” like STEM and architecture. It released no plan to actively recruit more men to female-dominated majors, like education.

The school will also look to increase the number of minority professors, requiring a “diversity statement” from anyone they look to hire.
