Looks like Hillary Clinton is still bitter over the 2016 election… after she refused to acknowledge President Donald Trump during the funeral of former President George H.W. Bush.
Donald and Melanie Trump, Barack and Michelle Obama, and Bill and Hillary Clinton were all seated in the front row at the service, held at the National Cathedral.
Trump, who had skipped the funeral of former First Lady Barbara Bush earlier this year amid bad blood with the Bush family, was invited specifically at President Bush’s request–who wanted to put the office of President before personal feelings as a sign of unity.
But Hillary Clinton didn’t seem to share Bush’s sentiment.
When President and Mrs. Trump sat down next to the Obamas, they warmly greeted each other and shook hands. Trump also nodded in the direction of the Clintons, who were seated on the other side of the Obamas, and was given a polite smile by Bill.
Hillary, however, continued to stare straight ahead, refusing to acknowledge that her 2016 challenger had sat down five seats away.
Hillary also snubbed First Lady Melania Trump. Mrs. Trump waved in the direction of the Clintons as she sat down, but was tossed only a bitter glare and slight nod by Hillary.
The Obamas are certainly no fans of President Trump–with President Obama launching into him with angry speeches before the 2018 election, and Mrs. Obama saying she could “never forgive” Trump for his attacks on her husband.
But at least they were able to put their personal animosity aside and act polite at a funeral.
