Trump Destroys Obama Over Economic Comments

That must have been an awkward conversation...

President Trump and his Administration have utterly destroyed Barack Obama’s comments over the state of the economy.

The response came after Obama tried to claim credit for the booming economy under President Trump, saying in a speech: “When you hear how great the economy is doing right now, let’s just remember when this recovery started.”

He added, “I’m glad it’s continued but when you hear about this economic miracle that’s been going on, when the job numbers come out, monthly job numbers, suddenly Republicans are saying ‘It’s a miracle.’ I have to remind them — actually, those job numbers are the same as they were in 2015 and 2016.”

The Trump Administration sent out economist Kevin Hassett, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, to fact-check Obama’s claim during the White House press briefing… and his takedown was brutal.

“One of the hypotheses that’s been floating around about the economy lately is that the strong economy that we are seeing is just a continuation of recent trends,” said Hassett. “You know, since we are the nerds of the White House, we decided this was a testable hypothesis.”

After a series of charts–which showed a clear uptick in growth under Trump, vs. under Obama, Hassett made a clear conclusion: “I can promise you that economic historians will look back and say there was an inflection point when President Trump was elected.”

President Trump also weighed in on Obama’s comments, albeit more bluntly: “‘President Trump would need a magic wand to get to 4% GDP,’ stated President Obama. I guess I have a magic wand, 4.2%, and we will do MUCH better than this! We have just begun.”
