Trump To Terminate DACA, The Dreamer Amnesty Program

It's our house now! Illegals get out!

President Trump announced plans to end the amnesty program known as the “DREAM Act,” – also called DACA. This Obama-era action waived enforcement of key federal immigration provisions for those who were taken into the U.S. illegally by their illegal alien parents.

During the campaign, President Trump pledged to end this Obama-era amnesty plan. And indeed, this is yet another promise that it looks like will be kept.

Trump had argued from “day one” to end the DREAM act. However, Trump confessed that, “the DACA situation is a very, very — it’s a very difficult thing for me,” during a February interview. “Because, you know, I love these kids. I love kids. I have kids and grandkids. And I find it very, very hard doing what the law says exactly to do.” And went on to assure the interviewer that he would, “deal with DACA with heart.”

Politico reported that Trump is giving the congress a 6-month window to come up with legislation to address those that have received temporary amnesty under DACA. This window of time puts the end of the timeline right in the very heat of the 2018 congressional elections – and will force weak, or disloyal, republicans into the open as they will have no choice but to make their position on DACA clear to voters.

Unsurprisingly, democrats were shocked and furious over the news that a temporary executive order that occurred under Obama was being rescinded by Trump, after Trump made immigration enforcement the cornerstone of his entire successful campaign.

Leading the charge of befuddled and angry democrats, Nancy Pelosi issued a statement declaring that, “President Trump’s decision to end DACA should break the hearts and offend the morals of all who believe in justice and human dignity.” The hyperbolic press release continues, claiming that enforcing our nation’s immigration laws constitutes a, “cruel act of political cowardice.”

She even urged republicans to support and advance the Democrat’s amnesty agenda, pleading that, “Republicans must join Democrats to pass legislation to safeguard our young DREAMers from the senseless cruelty of deportation and shield families from separation and heartbreak. Democrats will stand firm with DREAMers and redouble our efforts to protect our nation’s families from the Trump Administration’s mass deportation agenda.”

How many turncoat republicans do you think will side with Pelosi, and fight to conserve this Obama-era amnesty program?
