Nearly 40 students from Canada’s McMaster University are reported to have posted nearly 300 pro-Nazi comments on social media. The students are part of a pro-Palestinian activist group, and are muslim.

Students, including the alumni, have posted on social media praising Adolf Hitler, advocating terrorism, and the of death to whites, Jews, and Israel.

The students are part of an organization called Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR), an anti-Israel club at the Canadian university. Esra Bengizi, a former rep of the McMaster Student Assembly, tweeted out on in May 2014, “What Hitler did was wrong but I admire him as an individual he was extraordinarily intelligent, persuasive, deceptive & driven.”

She followed up with another tweet asking, “Where is Hitler when u need one? I literally ask this every day.” She continued the thread with more support for Hitler as she tweeted, “Hitler did more than just kill. He was also a great leader & role model for many.”

Rawan Qaddoura, another student is quoted on social media saying, “I honestly wish I was born at the time of the Second World War just to see the genius, Hitler, at work.” In addition to this, she said, “every time I read about Hitler, I fall in love all over again.”

Qaddoura even went so far to publically pronounce that, “the only good Zionist is a dead Zionist.” However, Jews were not the only target of her rants.  She continued “I keep saying, we need to cleanse the world of creatures such as these dirty white Americans.”

The Canadian university has strongly condemned the group of students, and their social media activity, praising Hitler, and attacking Jews and Whites. The administration responded, “quite clearly these social media comments do not reflect McMaster’s campus-wide commitment to inclusivity, civility, and respect.”

After a few days, the pro-Palestinian campus group SPHR released an official statement responding to the college.  They attempted to argue that the reaction over their violent expressions against Jews is merely an attempt to “silence and intimidate Palestinian activists from resisting military occupation of Palestinian land.” The anti-Israel club added in the same statement, “It would free anyone joining with anti-semitic views because the Palestinian liberation movement includes both Jewish allies as well as Palestinians – however, making no room for Zionist discourse.” “To equate all Jewish peoples with Zionism is anti-semitic in itself,” SPHR cryptically wrote.
