According to one Democrat and big money donor, there is one candidate on the left that is sparking the enthusiasm in the Democratic Party that hasn’t been seen sine Barack Obama decided to run over a decade ago.
Beto O’Rourke lost his Senate election earlier this month against Ted Cruz, but his political career could just be getting started.
Mikal Watts, attorney and big money donor for the Democratic Party is saying that Beto has what it takes to makes to make donors really energized for 2020.
Watts, a Texas lawyer says that he is getting calls from operatives and other potential donors and candidates. He says they are trying to find out if Beto has decided to run for president in 2020.
“They’re not wanting to sign on to other presidential campaigns until they know whether Beto is going. And if Beto is running, what good progressive Democrat wouldn’t want to work for Beto O’Rourke? I can tell you that there has not been this kind of level of electric excitement about a candidate since” (Barack Obama). – Mikal Watts.

O’Rourke is making Democrats excited even though he lost his election against Ted Cruz. Beto lost 51% to 49% in November, but was able to outraise Ted Cruz by a large margin and get more votes than anyone expected a virtually unknown Democratic politician to get in Texas.
What is Beto saying about running for president in 2020? He says he’s not running, but Ted Cruz thinks that he will run.
It seems that a lot of people on the left, including donors are excited about a possible O’Rourke run, but will he do it?
