Hackers Threaten Release Of Stolen “9/11 Conspiracy” Documents

9-11
I remember exactly where I was when they attacked... do you?

For years some people have believed that there was a conspiracy on September 11th, 2001 and some hackers claim to have the proof unless someone pays the ransom.

Hackers known as The Dark Overlord are claiming they have stolen 18,000 secret documents from the computer systems of a law firm that dealt with 9/11.

The group made an announcement and claim that they have hacked and obtained copies of files from Hiscox Syndicates Ltd, Lloyds of London and the Silverstein Properties. Silverstein Properties is the company that owned the lease on the towers and who the insurance settlements were paid too.

A spokesperson from Hiscox Group confirmed to Motherboard that they were hacked and it is possible that some files relating to 9/11 could have been stolen.

The law firm’s systems are not connected to Hiscox’s IT infrastructure and Hiscox’s own systems were unaffected by this incident. One of the cases the law firm handled for Hiscox and other insurers related to litigation arising from the events of 9/11, and we believe that information relating to this was stolen during that breach.

The hacking group wants money or it is going to release the documents according to the note sent by the hackers. “Pay the f*ck up, or we’re going to bury you with this. If you continue to fail us, we’ll escalate these releases by releasing the keys, each time a Layer is opened, a new wave of liability will fall upon you.”

The exact amount of ransom has not been defined, but the group would like its payments in Bitcoin. There is no report on when the documents will be released or if anyone has decided to pay.

Do you think there was a 9/11 conspiracy? Will these documents even matter? Let us know in the comments below.
