| When the federal government decided to enact prohibition and ban alcohol, there weren’t a lot of happy people who were happy about it. In fact, people actually tried to still buy the booze even though it was illegal. Can you believe it?
Well, the FBI was amazed that people were not following the law and couldn’t figure out how to stop bootlegging so they did the next best thing: they poisoned the alcohol. The FBI used to put things like paint thinner in the whisky to make people sick and die. Hopefully other people would see this and stop drinking alcohol. Well the plan worked… partly. It didn’t cause people to stop wanting to drink alcohol, but it did make thousands of people sick and many died. Thankfully prohibition was repealed and the FBI no longer poisons our whisky. |
