Early 2020 Poll Shows Democrats Don’t Have Answer For Trump

Donald Trump
Up, up, and away!

CNN released an early poll on potential 2020 Democratic candidates and the numbers don’t paint a very positive for liberals in the next presidential election.

With just over two years before the 2020 election, Democrats are starting to focus on the candidates they want to put up against Donald Trump.

The early field is crowded, but former Vice President Joe Biden is leading the pack with 33% of the vote.

Here are the full results.

Biden has a strong showing, but what is most surprising is the 13% that Bernie Sanders (D-VT) received. After his incredible run in the 2016 election, the Democratic Socialist looks to have another long road ahead of him with little momentum carrying over.

Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) came in third and fourth with 9% and 8% respectively. Harris’ nine percent is a strong showing for a candidate that has had very little national exposure. Most people know Harris as the woman that interrupted the Kavanaugh hearings.

One surprising name is Beto O’Rourke, who has captured the nation’s attention during his Senate race against Republican Ted Cruz in Texas. O’Rourke’s popularity has skyrocketed and if he can win against Ted Cruz in a red state like Texas, his support for a presidential run will increase.

There is no clear winner right now and with Biden only holding 33%, things will change dramatically during the primaries. One Twitter user pointed out that Hillary had over 60% at this time in 2014.

Once the midterms are over in November, all eyes will shift to the 2020 elections and the Democrats have a long way to go if they want to try and beat Donald Trump.
