California Feud Turns Into Bloody Rampage

Apparently no one told him this was a 'gun free zone,' and a "murder free zone."

On Tuesday a gunman killed four and wounded 10, including two children, in a rampage through Rancho Tehama Elementary School. Yet another tragedy strikes, in the gun-free paradise of California – who would have guessed!

Just days before he opened fire at multiple “random” locations near the Rancho Tehama Elementary School, the shooter had called his mother and had said that “it’s all over now.”

In an interview, the mother of the gunman recalled that her son had been frustrated recently because of an ongoing feud with the neighbors. “I’m on a cliff and there’s nowhere to go,” he had told her about the situation. She claims that she was completely unaware of her son being involved in Tuesday’s shooting until she was contacted by reporters.

The mother had posted bail for her son in January after he was charged with stabbing one of their neighbors. The Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said that one of the shooter’s victim was a woman who had been stabbed in the January attack.

School officials had heard shots being fired about a quarter-mile away and the school went into a lockdown mode, Johnston had said. He also added that the incident “could have been much worse if it wasn’t for the quick thinking” of the school’s staff, who had put the school in an immediate lockdown mode without any instructions from police.

Johnston noted it was absolutely “monumental” that the school workers took the action when they did because he believes that they saved the lives of countless innocent children.

The assistant sheriff further said that the gunman had rammed his vehicle into a school fence and then walked onto the school premises with a semi-automatic rifle while he himself was wearing a protective vest.

After being unable to get access to the classrooms due to the lockdown, it’s believed that the gunman had become “frustrated” and went back to his car and began shooting at people while he was driving, according to police.

“This is an individual that armed himself, I think, with the motive of getting even with his neighbors and when it went that far, he just went on a rampage,” Johnston had added about the shooter, noting that the authorities didn’t suspect any connection to an act of terrorism.
