Video: Facebook Satellite Blows Up On Launch Pad

Facebook

Watch as a SpaceX rocket explodes on the launch pad with Facebook’s new revolutionary satellite inside.

The explosion took place just after 9am on Thursday as the rocket was fueling up to deliver the Facebook satellite to orbit.

Watch as the rocket explodes just a few moments into the video and then wait to hear the sound.

Due to the distance the camera’s microphone was away from the explosion, there is a delay between the explosion and the sound.

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX commented on Twitter and said that the cause of the blast is unknown.

Mark Zuckerberg posted on Facebook that he was very disappointed because the revolutionary satellite that was inside the rocket was to deliver the Internet to Africa and parts of the Middle East.

This is a set back for a company that has really aimed for the stars. Elon Musk has said that SpaceX would be able to take people to Mars as soon as 2025.

Yesterday he couldn’t get off the ground, but don’t expect this to stop SpaceX.

There were a lot of investments that will never pay off because of the explosion, but nobody was hurt in the explosion of the unmanned rocket.

Don’t expect this to stop Musk or SpaceX, they will be launching again soon. Facebook on the other hand is going to go a different route to try and bring the Internet to Africa.
