In his address to the State of the Union, President Donald Trump highlighted a broad range of issues that have been surmounting for the past few days. The president, in his 80-minute speech, explained some of the major achievements during his first year in the office as well as the progress America has made during that period.

Trump shed light on some of the issues that remained uncertain for the past couple of weeks, which include the immigration, the Russia issue, and making America great again. What can be taken from the President’s address is that Trump is working towards a progressive America that is free from crime.

The president expressed in his speech that immigration laws would be reformed to limit the number of migrant population in the country. There will be restrictions on immigration due to relatives and families, which causes a “chain migration” according to the President. The balloting residency will also cease to implement controls in the migration policy. Trump said to the public, “To every citizen watching at home tonight, no matter where you have been or where you come from, this is your time,” Trump said. “If you work hard, if you believe in yourself, if you believe in America, then you can dream anything, you can be anything, and together, we can achieve absolutely anything.”

He expressed that the United States will engage in progressive development, saying that “Past experience has taught us that complacency and concessions only invite aggression and provocation. I will not repeat the mistakes of the past administrations that got us into this dangerous position.”

He further added that “We built the Empire State Building in just one year. Isn’t it a disgrace that it can now take 10 years just to get a permit approved for a simple road?”

President Donald Trump added that the United States will perform strongly and will not falter due to criminal activity, saying that “Bullies may land a punch. They might leave a mark. But they have never, not once, in the history of our United States, managed to match the strength and spirit of a people united in defense of their future.” He further added that “We see an economy that makes stocks soar, investor portfolios bulge and corporate profits climb but fails to give workers their fair share of the reward.”
