The Center for Disease Control (CDC) released their perennial report on Sexually Transmitted Diseases in 2016. The report shows an alarming increase in the rates and prevalence of these destructive diseases after decades of progress.
The Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance 2016 a report by the CDC released in September is a comprehensive survey of numerous diseaes, most noticeably Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis. All of these three diseases saw a huge increase between 2015 and 2016 in their respective rates per 100,000 population.
Chlamydia increased by 4.7%, Syphilis by 17.6% and gonorrhea by a massive 18.5%. These increasing rates show up constantly irrespective of regions, sexes and among all the racial and ethnic groups.
These increases in the rates are a part of the years-long trend in U.S. STD rates. The rates for the chlamydia infections have grown continuously since the CDC began tracking it down in 1984. Syphilis hit a historic new low in 2001; almost 2.1 cases per every 100,000 before rising again a staggering 314% today. Gonorrhea hit its lowest in 2009, the 2016 rate is again a 48% high.
All of these three infection rates follow the reliable demographic norms, and all of these three STDs are among the most prevalent in the African Americans and Native Americans. The Chlamydia predominates among the young women and in most cases these infections are asymptomatic. Syphilis is dominated in men who have sex with men, or MSM a CDC issued term avoiding the complicating factors of self identifies sexual preferences. Men take up to a huge 90% of the sufferers out of which almost 80.6% are from MSM.
Dr. Gail Bolan, the CDC Director of the Division of the STD Prevention, in the report wrote, “Not that long ago, gonorrhea rates were at historic lows, syphilis was close to elimination, and we were able to point to advances in STD prevention, such as better chlamydia diagnostic tests and more screening, contributing to increases in detection and treatment of chlamydial infections. That progress has since unraveled.”
The report also reveals suggestions that these increases may be a resultant of infrastructure and funding. It said, “The resurgence of syphilis, and particularly congenital syphilis, is not an arbitrary event, but rather a symptom of a deteriorating public health infrastructure and lack of access to health care. It is exposing hidden, fragile populations in need that are not getting the health care and preventive services they deserve.”
Peter Sprigg, a senior member of the Family Research Council, pinpointed the root cause of the expanding epidemic, noting clearly that, “where we violate a traditional sexual ethic of abstinence until marriage and fidelity within marriage, there are tangible negative consequences, of which the epidemic of STDs is the most obvious example.”
As our cultural norms and popular morality continues its backslide into the basest forms of animalistic barbarism, we can only expect these destructive diseases to continue to spread. As unwashed 3rd world refugees stream across the west, spreading illnesses which were once eradicated within our borders, and new laws get passed to ENOCURAGE the spread of life-ruining illnesses such as AIDs and HIV.
