The numbers for the violence in America is skyrocketing and no city has fallen faster than Chicago with an amazing amount of murders this year.

So far this year, Chicago has seen 487 homicides and over 2,800 people have been shot.

Compare those numbers to last year and you will see that Chicago is as violent in the first 8 months of 2016 as all of 2015.

Last year, there were 491 homicides and just under 3,000 people shot. Unless something miraculous happens, Chicago is going to shatter the numbers from last year.

The tragedy in Chicago is that the communities that are shooting themselves are not mad at the violence that they are causing, but take every opportunity to call the police murders.

The irony is sickening. The city that just had 400 people shot in a single month is protesting the police for one mistake.

There were 78 people killed in Chicago this month, and the community is out protesting the police.

August was the most violent month in almost 20 years, and the month isn’t even over.

Nobody is safe in Chicago, even NBA star, Dwayne Wade’s cousin was shot and killed in the Windy city while she was pushing a stroller. Luckily the two shooters have been caught.

The horror that is happening in Chicago is spreading to other cities as well. Milwaukee and Washington DC have seen homicide rates spike this year to numbers they have not seen in over 20 years.

Baltimore had a good year back in 2011 where they had only 197 homicides the entire year. Compare that to this year where the city has had it’s 200th murder and there are still four months to go in the year.

Growing violence is a real problem in our cities and it is only getting worse.
