“San Diego Is Next” ISIS Warning Or Hoax?

ISIS

A Craigslist warning was found online that warned, “San Diego is next”. Is it a real threat or is it a hoax?

For those who love warm weather and sunshine, San Diego is probably the top city in the United States. The gorgeous weather complements a wonderful mix of Hispanic and American cultures nestled on the Pacific Ocean.

The idyllic city is facing a unique threat today. ISIS has warned of its attacks in the future, but a Craigslist ad is different.

The story broke on a local news channel when a viewer of KGTV San Diego found an ad in the Men Seeking Men forum. The ad was deleted shortly after it was put up, but this is what the ad said.

“Orlando was long overdue. Cleanse your community of the filth that gives decent gay men and women a bad name. Those people were walking diseases, bug chasers, and thank god for AIDS and 9-11 and now Orlando. San Diego you are next …”

The FBI and local authorities insist that the city is clear and that this threat is not related to any other actionable information.

Despite the assurances from law enforcement, the local police are increasing their presence in the street, and they are urging local citizens to call in anything out of the ordinary.

This scare is coming on the heels of a report yesterday that thousands and thousands of tips are rolling into the FBI since the Orlando shooting. The bureau seems to be overwhelmed. Lets hope that is not the case.

The picture on the ad was a hand holding a pistol firing a bullet. The ominous image and the warning could be ISIS trying to scare Americans before an attack.

The whole thing could be a hoax. Two SDSU college students could have had a few two cervezas and thought this was funny.

Either way the FBI needs to find the person or people responsible for the ad and arrest them. If it is a hoax, then they can still be charged with making terrorist threats.

If it is real, then hopefully we can stop the “Next Orlando” before it happens.
