Only Two Republicans Lead Clinton, You’ll Be Surprised Who They Are

Only two Republican presidential candidates are leading Hillary Clinton in head-to-head polling–but it’s not who anyone would expect.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal and NBC News poll, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Carly Fiorina and retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson, are the only two Republicans in the polls who would beat Hillary Clinton in a one-on-one matchup if the election were held today.

Fiorina leads Clinton by one point, 45-44, and Carson also leads Clinton by one point, 46-45.

But what’s extremely telling is that the same poll shows the two media-appointed frontrunners for the nomination–businessman Donald Trump and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush–trailing Hillary.

While Bush trails Hillary by just one point, 45-44, Trump trails her by a huge margin of ten points, 49-39.

Hillary Clinton’s popularity–and her poll numbers–have continued to crater in recent months.

The problem for her is that she’s a known quantity–she’s been in public life for so long that, essentially, everyone who wants to vote for her is already in her camp.

Barring a Republican candidate that’s disliked by a large portion of the party, like Donald Trump or Jeb Bush, that leaves Hillary Clinton little room to grow.

So if she’s only pulling 44 or 45% of the vote–and trailing who might be her eventual challenger, even though they have far less name recognition than she does–that could spell doom for Hillary’s White House chances.
