Ben Carson Asks A Question That Liberals Refuse To Answer

Dr. Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon running for the Republican nomination for President of the United States, eviscerated anti-American liberals in just one line.

Speaking at the Value Voters Summit, Carson brought up the common trope on the Left, who only see fault in America’s role in the world:

“I really get irritated when people complain about America, and they say that we are a terrible place and we are the source of all evil in the world.”

This has been a common refrain for years on the Left–but it’s been even more pronounced in the age of Obama over the last few years.

On everything from immigration to foreign policy to gun control to the Black Lives Matter movement, liberals have decried America for just about everything.

But Carson asked the critical question to liberals:

“If we were so bad, why is everybody trying to get in here and no one is trying to escape?”

With tens of millions of illegal immigrants streaming across the border–in addition to the tremendous backlog of those who want to come over legally–it’s clear that there’s still allure in America.

Despite all of the nitpicking that liberals find in America, like believing that the American Dream is dead, the fact is that America remains the last best hope for those who still want a better life. Which is why America has such a massive immigration problem in the first place–it’s still a place where someone can come and, through hard work, succeed.

Carson isn’t the only presidential candidate to bring up this question–but he’s the first to ask it so bluntly.

So far, no major politician on the Left has offered up an answer.
